Testimonies of Healing

I was healed of astigmatism through reading the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. With the loving, patient help of practitioners when necessary, many diseases have been healed.

Just five years ago, while on board a lake steamer, I fell down a flight of brass-bound stairs, which resulted in spinal and other internal injuries. As I had spent the greater part of five years in and out of hospitals and had had two serious abdominal operations, when this accident took place my fear of a doctor's diagnosis was so great that I refused to have medical attention, insisting that I wanted to die as I was.

With a grateful heart I wish to testify to the blessings I have received in Christian Science. My second oldest daughter had suffered since early childhood from a throat trouble which caused her a great deal of discomfort.

It is about four years since I was seized with a very severe attack of inflammatory rheumatism while on holiday on the coast. I was advised to try various remedies as a relief; but nothing did me any good, and my sufferings were "dreadful.

Several years ago, with the help of a practitioner, I was healed of pleurisy, pneumonia of both lungs, and threatened tuberculosis. During treatment for these ailments a baby, weighing two pounds and six ounces, was born prematurely.

It is with deep and sincere gratitude for the many blessings I have received through the study of Christian Science that I send this testimony. Many diseases have been healed, among them colds, sore throat, burns, rupture, rheumatism, accidents, blood poisoning, measles.

In 1907 I became the victim of a disease which the doctors called incurable. They said that I would never be able to walk again.

Our family of four has many reasons to be grateful to our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, for the beautiful truth she has so plainly revealed to us in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures. " It is with great pleasure that I tell of some of the many healings we have had in our home.

Christian Science is unfolding to me health, happiness, and understanding, and for these I am very grateful; grateful, too, for having been brought up in a home where Christian Science was the only religion, medicine, and doctor, and where the power of God through the teachings of Christian Science has been effectually applied to overcome many an erroneous condition; grateful for the privilege of attending a Christian Science Sunday School, for membership in The Mother Church in Boston and in one of its branch churches, and also for class instruction. But I am most grateful for the revelation and discovery of the goodness and allness of God, Life, and of the perfection of man, His reflection.
