Testimonies of Healing

I did not come to Christian Science because of any great physical need; for although I had ailments, none of them were continuously troublesome. But the uncertainty of happiness, the changeableness of friends, the mystery of life and death and the hereafter, all called for some solution.

I have had many beautiful proofs of the healing power of Christian Science. Constipation, ulcerated teeth, neuralgia, weak eyes which caused daily headaches, and ptomaine poisoning are some of the errors which have been destroyed.

Christian Science , which shows us most clearly that the real man is of divine origin, has enabled me to work my way step by step out of false conditions. As a child I was somnambulistic.

This testimony is written to express my gratitude for what Christian Science has done for me in the past fourteen years. Christian Science heals, and can heal quickly! My first healing was of gallstones, and was instantaneous.

Christian Science came into my life eighteen years ago, after many years of searching for healing for my husband, who had been given up by sixteen physicians who claimed he had Bright's disease, cirrhosis of the liver, and valvular trouble of the heart. I felt that all material means had failed; and it was at this moment that I turned and called for help from a Christian Science practitioner in a near-by town.

It is indeed a blessed privilege to be able to express my sincere gratitude for Christian Science through the periodicals our Leader provided. I am grateful for membership in The Mother Church and in a loyal branch church.

Christian Science has unfolded in my consciousness the law of active right thinking, and in faithfully applying this law I have been able to glorify God's name in many demonstrations. Through humble prayer, and through searching the Scriptures and faithfully studying our dear Leader's writings, I have seen many evils disappear: nervousness, constipation, insect bites, warts, toothache, rupture, measles, influenza, tobacco smoking, burns, financial lack, self-pity, and hatred have all been healed.

I was brought up in a Christian home, attended an orthodox church, and was an earnest church worker, but there was always a feeling of unrest, a longing for something that would bring peace. From a child I was not well, lack of strength and fatigue being two of the things which made life unsatisfactory.

In loving gratitude to the Giver of all good, I should like to mention some of the many beautiful healings that have come to me through the understanding of Christian Science. Having grown up in a very strict orthodox home, I tried to establish my own home on the same ecclesiastical lines, with the result of untold suffering from various diseases.

It was about eight years ago that I turned to Christian Science. While making a short journey I met a woman who told me something about this Science.
