Testimonies of Healing

I wish to express my gratitude for all that Christian Science has done for me, and is doing for all mankind. Having been born and raised in this Science, with no other help, I have had many wonderful proofs of the efficacy and healing power of Life, Truth, and Love.

" Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. " Early in my experience in Christian Science it was proved to me that one has to know the truth, not simply repeat words concerning the truth.

In the autumn of 1922 I was taken suddenly ill with pains in my body. My husband sent for a doctor, who diagnosed the case as one of fever and, at his third visit, pronounced it peritonitis.

At one time my youngest child became very ill. A Christian Science practitioner was called on the telephone, and in less than three days he was well, having in that time passed through all the stages of a severe case of measles.

Along with many thousands of others I should like to express my sincere gratitude for all that Christian Science is doing for me, for mine, and for all mankind. I have been helped in many ways, physically, mentally, morally, and spiritually.

In our home we have been graciously blessed through Christian Science demonstration, and I cannot too emphatically state that the truth has met our every need in every hour. When everything else had failed, Christian Science became our only physician.

I am very grateful to the Giver of all good for revealing Christian Science to me when it was most needed. About five years ago, after several doctors had done all they could to heal me of organic leakage of the heart and had failed, a friend sent us some copies of the Christian Science Sentinel ; and although I had formerly ridiculed this Science, after I had read the literature my thought was so changed I decided to visit a practitioner to learn more of this strange yet beautiful teaching that had cast a ray of hope into my discouraged thought.

I have been a student of Christian Science for nine years; and in that time we have witnessed many healings in our home, catarrh, tubercular throat, varicose veins, neuritis, infected eyes, abscess, acute indigestion, and many other so-called ailments having been healed. I wish to speak of a recent healing from the effects of an accident.

With a desire to know more about God, I began the study of Christian Science. I am grateful for the purification of thought and the spiritual illumination which have come to me through our Leader's inspired writings; these alone have made possible the healings which I have experienced.

It is about fifteen years since I became interested in Christian Science, and each one has his own individual experience. Mine was not one of seeking a cure for sickness, although I found myself quickly healed of chronic constipation and a valvular heart condition.
