Testimonies of Healing

I did not accept Christian Science on account of any physical healing of my own; but after witnessing the healing of my mother of blood poisoning through Christian Science, when she seemed to be very near death's door, I was convinced that this must be the same truth taught by Christ Jesus. This was twenty-two years ago, and my mother is still living.

Having been helped and encouraged many times by testimonies given in the Journal or Sentinel , or at Wednesday evening testimony meetings, I wish to testify to the great blessings that have come to me through the teachings of Christian Science. I first turned to Christian Science for healing in August, 1896.

Christian Science means everything in the world to me. During the past twenty-four years it has been our only physician.

Christian Science came to me in answer to prayer for light and guidance, while I was teaching in a denominational Sunday school. I had been much distressed at the seeming inconsistency of the Bible, though I had been a student of it for years; but through the study of Christian Science I was able to understand the true nature of God and apply the truth by taking God at His word.

Gratefully I acknowledge the untold blessings that have come to me since I began to grasp the truth as unfolded to me in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. About seven years ago I was healed of stomach, kidney, and heart trouble, also of rheumatism of long standing, for which I had been taking medicine for over sixteen years without any result.

Some thirteen years ago, I was overcome by nervous prostration. Materia medica was tried, but I received no benefit.

I desire to express my sincere gratitude for the health and happiness that have come to us through the study of Christian Science. My husband has been healed of severe nervous headaches, defective eyesight, grippe, neuritis, fear, anxiety about his business, and lack of supply.

I wish to express my gratitude for the many blessings that have come to my family and to me through the teachings of Christian Science. We have had innumerable healings.

In the summer of 1922 a rash appeared on my body, accompanied by a terrible itching sensation as soon as I was warmly in bed; and I could get no sleep. This tormented me for weeks.

I wish to take this opportunity of expressing my gratitude for Christian Science and for all it has done for me. Because I have grown up in the knowledge of this wonderful truth since I was about ten years old, I am sometimes tempted to think I have nothing to give a testimony about, because I have experienced no big healing.
