Testimonies of Healing

I have received so much benefit from the testimonies in the Sentinel and Journal that I want to add mine. Divine Love has met my every need.

Before taking up the study of Christian Science I had a very confused concept of God. I was very much puzzled by passages in the Bible which seemed to describe God as subject to change, at one time blessing and at another time turning from His people, and I thought that discord was the result of God turning away from us.

My heart is overflowing with gratitude to God for His goodness. When the desire first came to me to read the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, there seemed to be a lack of supply.

I began the study of Christian Science about nine years ago, when I had help from a practitioner and was healed of a chronic bowel trouble. This trouble returned four times, but was met each time through Christian Science, and was overcome twice through my own understanding of this Science.

As the testimonies in the Sentinel and Journal have been a great help to me during the last few years I send mine in the hope that it may also help others. I became interested in Christian Science in the spring of 1915 upon my arrival in England from India, but did not buy "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy until the autumn of 1916, and then only found time to read it occasionally, but I loved it at once, especially the chapter, "Atonement and Eucharist.

Some ten years ago, out of the fullness of a grateful heart, I sent to our periodicals a testimony of the instantaneous healing of an infectious disease which included many so-called material laws of a discouraging character. This purification was as permanent as it was prompt, and is still bearing the fruits of righteousness.

I am grateful for the privilege of giving my testimony, having had many healings through the study and application of Christian Science. I have been able to leave off a body brace which had been worn for at least fifteen years.

After hearing and reading so many wonderful testimonies of healing in Christian Science I feel that I have not done my duty in not giving mine. In two treatments I was healed of ulcers of the stomach and very severe headaches.

A little over eight years ago I began the study of Christian Science in earnest. Before that I had been interested in it for a year or more, but had failed to appreciate it.

In gratitude for proof that "the word of God is quick and powerful," when intelligently applied to any situation or circumstance in accordance with the teachings of Christian Science, I lovingly submit the following testimony of healing. One very hot day last summer, while at play in the park my little seven-year-old son became exhausted and fell from the top of a ten-foot ladder.
