Testimonies of Healing

With a heart full of gratitude I write this testimony in the hope that it will help some one who is drifting with the tide as I was when Christian Science found me. A little more than six years ago I made my first visit to a Christian Science church.

I give this testimony in great thankfulness to God and with gratitude to the Leader of the Christian Science movement, Mary Baker Eddy. One night toward the end of last November I started down to the basement, tripped at about the second step, and fell to the bottom, striking the back of my head and my back.

Words fail me when I think of what I and mine owe to Christian Science. When this wonderful truth was first presented to me, I was a mental and physical wreck, suffering from nicotine poisoning said to be due to excessive smoking.

For the many beautiful proofs I have had of the power of Truth since coming into some understanding of Christian Science I am truly grateful. Although having been interested some fifteen years, it has only been during the past five years that I have been able to demonstrate anything for myself.

I feel it my duty to express my gratitude for the enlightenment and good I have received through the study of Christian Science. I had attended many churches of different denominations, but none appealed to me, as none of them gave me an understanding of the Bible.

I derive so much benefit each week from the testimonies of healing that I would like to add mine, hoping it will encourage some earnest seeker for Truth. I have been studying Christian Science for the last six years; it has met all my needs, and has taught me to study the Bible every day whereas before I very seldom read it at all and when I did it never seemed to be of any help to me but now no matter what the problem is I can always find help in the Bible through the teachings of Christian Science.

I wish to express my gratitude for the healing truth of Christian Science. My first visit to a Christian Science church was from curiosity and I did not go again until four years later, when a friend invited me to go with her, and I was so impressed that I have been attending ever since.

A recent experience has led me to send in this testimony to show that if we protect our thought sufficiently with good all things will work together for our good, as the Bible declares. A few Sundays ago, before going to bed I worked many hours over a problem that I had seemed to have great difficulty in solving.

It is with the greatest joy and gratitude that I am sending my testimony of all that Christian Science has done and is doing for me. I came into Christian Science about four years ago seeking help for one who is very near and dear to me.

Gratitude for what a slight knowledge of Christian Science has done for me makes me want to tell my experience, hoping that it may be of help to some beginner. Three years ago a dear friend became interested in Christian Science and was so helped by it that she was keen to tell me what she had learned.
