Testimonies of Healing

The testimonies in our periodicals are always so helpful to me that I feel it is not only a duty but a great privilege to add mine, hoping some one may be benefited by reading it as I have been by reading those of others. Over a year ago I turned to Christian Science for physical healing after all material means had failed.

For years there seemed to be a void in my life. Until I was old enough to think for myself, I had accompanied my mother to church; but as I grew older and read the Bible and understood it better, I found that I did not enjoy the services and after a while I refused to attend but tried to obey the instructions of Christ Jesus as given in Matthew, "But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.

It is with sincere gratitude for the many blessings Christian Science has brought to me that I give this testimony. Nearly two years ago I had scarlet fever, and the doctor did not seem to help me.

I am sending this testimony hoping it will help some one to see the truth. Christian Science has been a blessing to me, for it has taught me to know God as Love, and to love and not to fear Him.

I wish to tell of what Christian Science has done for me. I had a regular passion for tobacco, in the pipe and cigars, and especially for chewing.

Having so often been helped by the Christian Science periodicals, I should like to express through them my gratitude for what Christian Science has done for me. For the last ten years Christian Science has been my remedy for every ill, and by applying the understanding of divine Principle every difficulty has been overcome and every need supplied.

When a child I had a very severe case of diphtheria, and from that time on I was subject to throat trouble. Never a winter passed that I did not have one or more attacks of sore throat, and this difficulty continued a number of years after I became interested in Christian Science.

Christian Science came to me in the year 1917. In July of that year I had been placed on the operating table for a third operation.

Justly would I deserve to be classed with the nine lepers who were healed by the Master if I failed to return thanks for the wonderful benefits which have come to me through the healing efficacy of Christian Science. Three times in less than three years I was rendered unconscious through heart disease.

I first heard of Christian Science eight years ago, through a lady who recommended that my mother try it for heart trouble. My mother was unable to walk upstairs, and we always had to have a ground floor bedroom for her, but with the help of a practitioner she was perfectly healed, and is now in good health.
