Testimonies of Healing

When I think of all the blessings received through the study and application of Christian Science, there comes a great desire to express my gratitude so that others may read of it. During the year 1911 I suffered from rheumatism, and tried many so-called cures without gaining relief.

It is over twenty-five years since I first heard of Christian Science. Then I bought a copy of Science and Health, but did not understand it, though I felt positive that Christian Science was the truth, and upheld it at every opportunity.

I heard of Christian Science for the first time in 1910. After having several attacks of illness said by the doctors to be appendicitis, I was told that the next one would surely mean an operation.

It is with deep gratitude that I give the following testimony of what Christian Science has done for me. While traveling over the country, going from place to place, I was subject to all the temptations that the world affords, and as a result I found myself in a very bad condition.

In 1907 I seemed likely to become a hopeless cripple from sciatica and neuritis in their severest forms, but Christian Science healed me. All my life I had been extremely delicate, never able to do things other children did without some suffering.

I am very grateful for Christian Science. In December, 1913, our baby, then seven months old, was taken suddenly ill.

With thankfulness for even a slight knowledge of Christian Science, I will tell of benefits received. One Sunday, when returning from church, I was taken with severe pain in the back of the head and neck.

I feel impelled to write my testimony, and trust it may be accepted as one more witness to the truth contained in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy.

Christian Science came to me at a time when everything seemed dark, and it brought unspeakable joy and hope. I was bitter and despondent, fighting for courage to go on with life.
