Deep gratitude impels me to tell of what Christian Science has done for me. In April, 1906, I had the misfortune to injure my right foot and ankle, and as a result was obliged to use crutches for nearly three years. After our home physicians had exhausted every available means of relief I was taken to a sanitarium, and later employed a bone specialist, who would not take the case for less than a year. During this time I wore a heavy cast and was cautioned not to bear any weight on that foot. At the end of the year, when I had hoped to walk again, my condition seemed more serious than ever, and I had about despaired of ever having the use of my foot again or even of being helped by materia medica.
A friend then wrote to me of her healing in Christian Science and asked me to try it. I accordingly sent word to a practitioner to come to my home, a distance of nearly two hundred miles, and never will I forget the joy and happiness she brought, for with one treatment I, like the lame man at the gate Beautiful, was "leaping, and praising God." The crutches were taken away, and from that day to this, which is now about six years, I have never had occasion to use them.
For this demonstration, and many others, I am very grateful. My daily prayer is for spiritual strength and understanding to prove by my work the love and thankfulness to God which is in my heart, as well as gratitude to our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for making known through Science and Health this great healing and regenerating power.—Dillon, Mont.
