Testimonies of Healing

It is several years since I gave up medicine and decided to try Christian Science, as I had come to the conclusion that there was nothing else that could help me even temporarily. My health had been poor for years, getting gradually worse each winter until the fall of 1910, when I had a severe attack of bronchial trouble from which it seemed as if I would never recover.

I send this testimony with deep thankfulness to God and gratitude to Mrs. Eddy for the many blessings Christian Science has brought me.

Eight years and a half ago I took up the study of Christian Science and commenced treatment for bronchial trouble and catarrh. Like the woman of old, I had "suffered many things of many physicians,.

Since my healing of appendicitis in the summer of 1913 through the power of divine Love as understood in Christian Science, my earnest desire has been to help others as I have been helped by reading the testimonies given in the Sentinel and at our Wednesday evening meetings. On the afternoon of June 13, 1 was taken suddenly ill with acute pain in one side, but as these attacks had occurred before, I thought relief would come as usual.

I did not come to Christian Science for physical healing, but because of dissatisfaction with the concept of God offered me. My religious training from childhood was very strict, but I could never make myself love a God of whom I was in fear, and who, as I was told, sent so much sickness and so many disappointments into our lives.

I feel that the time has come when I too should publicly express my gratitude for and appreciation of Christian Science. Through the reading of the text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," and Mrs.

In infancy I fell from a bed and injured the spine. This accident resulted in convulsions, and a few years later in curvature of the spine.

I wish to express my gratitude for benefits received through Christian Science. In former years I suffered greatly with anemia, and this condition resulted in a serious nerve trouble, which kept me in bed for three months at a time.

I did not come to Christian Science for healing, and indeed my first reading of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy was accompanied by a great deal of prejudice against the author; but glimpses of light revealed the truth of being and led me to continue the study, especially as I had long felt that duty instead of joy in the service was the main incentive in the religion I had hitherto known.

I wish to give expression to my gratitude for what Christian Science has done for me. In the spring of 1904 I was slowly recovering from a long illness.
