Testimonies of Healing

My experience in Christian Science dates from June 28, 1913, when my son, then twelve years of age, was run over by an automobile and dragged under the machine for some distance. His injuries included a fractured skull, a gash over one eye, and also bruises on his body.

For the benefit of the many who are seeking help in their need, I would tell of how I found healing in Christian Science. I suffered for many years with an internal trouble, which was diagnosed in various ways by the physicians, none of whom seemed to be able to define the real nature of the disease.

About seven years ago Christian Science found me dissatisfied with life, dissatisfied with myself, and attributing to my environment much of my unhappiness and limitation. It also found me struggling under a load of physical ailments.

It is a joy to say I have had many proofs of the healing power of Christian Science. For about seven years I have been studying the Bible under the guidance of the Christian Science text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures.

I am filled with gratitude for the blessings which have come to me through Christian Science. For years I was afflicted with bronchial catarrh.

It is with a deep sense of gratitude that I send my testimony. Fifteen years ago Christian Science was brought to me while I was an inmate of the children's hospital in San Francisco, where I had been confined for nine years, suffering from hip disease.

Christian Science found me in a very wretched condition, for I had suffered a great many years from a weakness which had developed into what is known as tuberculosis of the spine. I wore steel braces for over five years and lived as much as possible according to the physical rules of health.

In numerous ways I have been benefited by Christian Science; so also has my little son, who has never had anything but this truth for medicine. I have been studying Christian Science only about five years, although I have known of it and been helped by it since I was ten years old.

It has come to me frequently of late that I should send a hymn of thanksgiving and praise to the giver of "every good gift and every perfect gift" for the multitude of blessings that have come to me and mine since we first began to investigate Christian Science more than eighteen years ago. Truly it has healed and helped us many times, and has never failed when sought and applied in the way of God's appointing, as our dear Leader has taught us in Science and Health.

In 1894 a dear friend told me that I could be healed by reading "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy.
