Testimonies of Healing

It is with gratitude for what Christian Science has done for our family that I send this testimony. Our baby was cured by Christian Science treatment of convulsions and of worms.

I have long felt that I should testify to the great benefits I have received from the study of Christian Science. I was healed of eye trouble of fifteen years' standing, as well as of the tobacco habit; but the liquor habit was not destroyed, and was growing on me, although I did not realize it.

I have had many proofs of God's love since taking up the study of Christian Science some six years ago. I was sick for several years, and at last, being told by a doctor that an operation was necessary, I decided to have Christian Science treatment.

It has been six years since Christian Science was offered to me by a friend with whom I was staying. I had lost all hope of ever being well again, but by studying our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs.

Gratitude impels me to give public expression to the blessings which my family and myself have received through Christian Science since we became acquainted with its teachings. About five years ago I was suddenly taken ill with severe stomach disorder, accompanied by cramps and ague, to which was added distressing neuralgic headache.

I feel it is my duty to give testimony to what Christian Science has done for us. It was in the summer of 1912 that we took up its study, and I am very thankful to God that I was led to it at the time when all other help seemed to fail.

As I have had a wonderful demonstration of God's healing power I cannot refrain from giving my experience, in the hope that some one suffering from a similar ailment may be induced to try Christian Science. For many years I suffered from what is termed facial neuralgia.

I came to Christian Science a hopeless creature as regards my physical condition, never expecting to be well; but that was not the reason for my turning to it, as I had come to think that sickness was part of my life. I was supposed to have inherited heart disease and lung trouble from my mother, and was under the care of physicians all my life up to the time above stated.

Before coming into Christian Science it seemed as if there was nothing for me to live for. I was a nervous wreck, the greatest trouble being my back, for there was not an hour when awake that I was not conscious of it.

A few years ago I was taken, according to medical diagnosis, with pleurisy combined with acute lung trouble. The first physician helped me so that I was able to do a little light housework, but I soon began to grow worse.
