Testimonies of Healing
IN 1902 my attention was directed to the efficacy of Christian Science by the coming to me of a Christian Science practitioner and her little son, for both of whom I did some dental work, in a way which for some reason impressed me. At this time I was apparently in excellent health and quite well satisfied with the religion of my birth.
So many blessings have come to me during the past four and a half years, since taking up the study of Christian Science, that it is my great desire to express my gratitude in every way possible. I have had numerous healings, some instantaneous; many proofs of the love and care of infinite good in meeting the needs of every day and hour, financial and otherwise.
I Feel very thankful for the many blessings which have come to me through Christian Science. It has been an ever present help in time of trouble.
From the time that I was a boy of ten years I suffered more or less from attacks of bowel disorder and biliousness. As I grew older the ailments became more aggravated, and I was assured by physicians' that they were chronic.
I can indeed say with Job, "I know that my redeemer liveth. " Six years ago I came to Christian Science for the healing.
I Am grateful for the wonderful good Christian Science is doing. In my own case, while some ailments have been healed since I took up the study, it was not the physical help so much as the spiritual that attracted me.
Although words can never express my heart's deep gratitude, it is a duty and a pleasure to give out to the world what Christian Science has done for me. I was not only raised from helplessness to health, but through my healing of physical disease I have found an ever present and all loving God to lean upon daily through all the trials of what is called mortal life.
Several years ago, while attending school, I was compelled to take the Bible as a study with one recitation a week. We were allowed so many "cuts" from classes each semester, and I used most of mine on Bible classes.
About three years ago, through observation of those who were letting their light shine, I was led to Christian Science, at a time when life seemed to hold for me nothing but un-happiness and disappointment. With the first glimpse of the truths in this Science was born the hope of realizing the ideals for which I had been striving, but always with defeat.
I AM truly grateful for the help that Christian Science has been to me. In February, 1914, I was taken ill with hemorrhage.
