Testimonies of Healing

In the three and a half years that I have been studying Christian Science we have experienced a great deal of good. Indeed this saving truth is the richest blessing that has ever come into my life.

With the deepest gratitude I wish to give this testimony to the healing of rheumatism through Christian Science. Since childhood I had suffered almost constant pain, and when a much trusted physician told my husband that nothing more could be done for me, I determined to try Christian Science.

Jesus said, "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. " I have experienced the fulfilment of this promise of the Master in my healing through the study of our text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs.

I send this testimony with thankfulness to God as the giver of all good, and with gratitude to our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, who through our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," has shown us the way.

It is with pleasure that I tell of my healing in Christian Science, in the hope that it may encourage some one who is seeking help. For eight years I suffered from lung trouble, for which materia medica could do nothing, and as members of my family had passed on with this disease, my fear was great.

I feel that I should no longer delay in telling others of the joy and peace that Christian Science has brought me through deliverance in a large degree from fear, sorrow, and grief. Greatest of all is the spiritual uplift and knowledge of God and of my relation to Him.

During the past six years I have used no material remedies, and in every instance where Christian Science treatment has been called for the results have been satisfactory. This also applies with equal force to my wife and child.

At the age of sixteen I was suffering from the so-called laws of heredity, and a doctor told me that if I did not go to a different climate I would not live to be twenty-five. Two of my sisters had passed away at about that age with lung trouble, and my mother with the same disease when I was a child.

It is about two years since I came to Christian Science, a broken man. For my physical complaint, a condition of shattered nerves with all its gruesome accessories, I had for years applied to a number of skilful physicians of different schools, besides experimenting with numerous health cures and taking quantities of drugs, with the result that each succeeding year found me worse off than before.

For more than fifty years I was a victim of hernia, which during the last ten years had assumed an exaggerated and, I was told, a very dangerous form.
