Testimonies of Healing

I am very grateful for the innumerable blessings I have received during the seven years that have passed since I first heard the words Christian Science, and in the degree in which I have understood what these two words mean, I have received permanent help mentally, morally, physically, financially, and spiritually. Job expressed the hope of physical healing when he declared, "In my flesh shall I see God.

I am exceedingly glad to tell of the great blessings that have come to me through Christian Science. When I first called a practitioner, I was suffering from a severe cold, from which I had to have quick relief in order to be able to do public work.

I desire to express my sincere gratitude for Christian Science. I did not come to it for physical healing, but was attracted to it because it seemed so practical.

A few years before I heard of Christian Science I began to grow tired of the old way of praying. I wanted to be good and happy, yet I never felt any better for praying.

I feel so grateful for Christian Science and all it has done for me that I want to tell others of my healing. About two years ago I was in great misery, suffering from nervous Breakdown.

It is with a heart full of thankfulness to God that I give this testimony to what Christian Science has done for me. In 1910 I was taken ill, and one of our best doctors said my kidneys were affected.

It is with sincere thankfulness to God for the many blessings I have received through Christian Science, that I wish to tell what Truth has done for me. Eight years ago, after lying on a bed of suffering for nine months on account of a nervous breakdown, I was almost instantly healed by Truth through absent treatment given by a Christian Science practitioner.

Christian Science has been of great help to me in many ways, but I will speak of one demonstration in particular. To ride on a street-car used to make me very dizzy, and in 1911 I fell from a moving car, striking the back of my head on the pavement.

When I was a child I had a very violent temper, and as I grew older it became worse and worse. I would become so angry that I would lose all control of myself and act like an insane person.

I deem it a privilege to be allowed to testify, through the pages of the Journal, to God's merciful goodness to me in the healing of my body and the uplifting of my thought from dark visions of mortal sense into a clearer atmosphere, that of Love and divine Science. For twenty-five years I was held in bondage to matter and material law expressed in many phases of suffering, such as acute stomach trouble, nervous exhaustion with a spinal complication, a skin disease, and other troubles which resulted in severe operations.
