Testimonies of Healing

My entire life has been blessed by a love and appreciation of Christian Science. My mother embraced Science, as had her mother before her.

Christian Science was introduced to our family over fifty years ago when a neighbor saw our need and invited my parents to attend a Christian Science lecture. This was a high point in our lives, as my father was completely healed of alcoholism and chronic appendicitis at that lecture.

About six years ago, while I was supervising some students on a particularly difficult term-paper assignment, I began suffering severe back pains. I was unable to bend over without bracing myself, thus making it very difficult for me to carry out my domestic and professional responsibilities.

In the past thirteen years, since my first testimony was published in the periodicals, there have been many trials, and at times it seemed there were backward steps. Yet out of these difficult experiences has come steady growth in my understanding of Christian Science and a purifying regeneration.

I was raised in Christian Science. As a child I attended a Christian Science Sunday School regularly and was receptive to the spiritual truths taught there.

I have practiced Christian Science since the age of ten, when my parents were introduced to this Science. There have been numerous healings of all types.

While was pregnant with our fourth child, a test indicated I was anemic. The midwife who gave me this information was concerned for me and urged me to use an iron supplement and to eat lots of iron-rich foods.

My mother became interested in Christian Science when her sister was healed of double pneumonia through Christian Science after her doctors had given up hope for her recovery. As a result of witnessing this remarkable demonstration of the power of Truth, my mother started studying Science.
