Testimonies of Healing

Many years ago my health was such that I went from doctor to doctor (nine in all) trying to find relief. I was suffering from migraine, spells of extreme nausea, and severe exhaustion.

My parents and grandparents are Christian Scientists, and I was a regular pupil in a Christian Science Sunday School (I am grateful for the loving guidance of dedicated teachers). My deepest gratitude embraces my family for their steadfast reliance on divine Truth for protection and healing.

I have been a lifelong Christian Scientist and have had many blessings. There have also been difficult experiences, but as Science and Health by Mrs.

For students of Christian Science, one of the difficulties in writing a testimony may be deciding just which healings to share! I am grateful for my parents' dedication to Science and for the healings I witnessed in their lives. And I could tell of rapid healings of childhood diseases and of the resolution through prayer of health, relationship, and career problems encountered as a young adult.

As I think back over the many times that God, good, has healed me, I am tremendously grateful for Christian Science. It is a clear-cut, effective teaching that provides us with answers to our questions concerning the Supreme Being, our own existence and purpose, and all of creation.

I would like to relate healings in connection with the births of our children. We chose to have the births take place at home, which was a real blessing for all of us.

How often has it been said, "What is there to be grateful for?"—when one is challenged with bleak future prospects? In my experience, however, the power of gratitude has brought healing, serenity, and confidence many times through recognition of the reality of God's powerful control. The power of gratitude played an important part in two healings that seemed extraordinary to those who witnessed them.

Although I was lovingly raised in Christian Science by my spiritually dedicated parents, my adherence to Science was rather sporadic. I turned to Christian Science to resolve an inharmonious marriage and difficult business problems, but for years I drifted in and out of any serious study of these teachings.

I have had many healings through my understanding of God in Christian Science, but I take special pleasure in sharing the following healing because it was such a clear example to me of the fact that God gives us all the understanding we need to prove the power of His allness. One Wednesday my husband and I were on our usual seventy-mile journey to the Christian Science church where we attend Wednesday evening testimony meetings.

Christian Science has richly blessed me over many years. It has healed me of numerous physical ills, including fainting spells, a lame back, facial neuralgia, headaches, and a sudden heart attack.
