Testimonies of Healing
After receiving the benefits of Christian Science for nearly fifty years, I feel it is about time I expressed my gratitude in our periodicals. I first heard of Christian Science in my freshman year in college when I lived in the home of a Christian Scientist.
Since my testimony that appeared in the August, 1964, issue of The Christian Science journal , I have experienced a number of healings, but one in particular stands out —release from the temptation to indulge in overeating. I knew that I did not wish to diet or use willpower, but also knew that it would be foolish, disobedient, and inconsistent simply to claim my freedom and yet continue to indulge, so I determined to eat moderately.
Christian Science has brought many blessings into my life, and I write this testimony with sincere gratitude to God. I was greatly in need of Science when it was presented to me, and it has helped me through many rough stages and problems of my life.

About thirty-five years after I had a healing in Christian Science, my first published testimony appeared in The Christian Science Journal of September, 1965. Before and since that time, Christian Science has blessed me in numberless ways.
When a dear friend introduced me to Christian Science, the joyous, healing Christ message satisfied all my longing for the truth and a higher understanding of life. I shall never forget the light of revelation that came into my consciousness when I began to read the textbook, Science and Health by Mrs.
Although my husband was born and raised in Christian Science, I knew nothing of this religion and was, in fact, an active member of another denomination until shortly before our marriage, when I began attending my husband's church with him. I particularly enjoyed the Wednesday evening testimony meetings, where I could hear others tell of their experiences, but I did not do any studying on my own, nor did I feel that this was necessarily the religion for me.
More than twenty-five years have passed since I expressed gratitude for Christian Science in our periodicals. During those years I have had many blessings, and many occasions to demonstrate the power of the healing Christ.
Several times in my life I have had to know that God was my Life, my only Life, as we read in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy (pp. 471, 472) : "This Science teaches man that God is the only Life, and that this Life is Truth and Love.
Christian Science has been a part of my life since I was born. In our home we were taught from early childhood what our spiritual nature is, and that God is divine Love and divine Mind, willing and able to save and heal.
