Testimonies of Healing

Christian Science has brought great good into my life. In our family of four, God has been our only physician for over twenty years.

Christian Science was presented to me through the beautiful example of a life lived in accordance with divine Principle. It was a revelation to me to watch this beloved friend in her contacts with others.

I had been married about six years, and had a son a year old, when I felt myself becoming very depressed and despondent. I was very tired and seemed to be disillusioned with marriage and life in general.

"You ought to try Christian Science!" These words were spoken to us with great compassion some thirty years ago, when my husband was incapacitated a great deal of the time with attacks of asthma. We were at a very low ebb financially, and we had two babies to care for.

As a child I was given a copy of Science and Health. When I was in high school, my voice teacher was a Christian Scientist On the day of my recital my voice was very hoarse.

Thirty-six years ago I was healed in one day of German measles by the prayers of my first Christian Scientist friend, my Sunday School teacher, when, as a twelve-year-old, I understood nothing of the teachings of this religion. However, I did understand that prayer had brought the healing, and I did understand the warmth and love radiating from this gentle person.

Christian Science was brought to my attention three times before I accepted it. A lovely little girl invited me to visit her Sunday School when I was a youngster.

Many years ago I became interested in spiritual healing. I read scores of books on the subject.

Just as a Psalm says ( 40:10 ), "I have not hid thy righteousness within my heart; I have declared thy faithfulness and thy salvation: I have not concealed thy lovingkindness and thy truth from the great congregation. " I have spoken of it constantly in the five years that I have been studying Christian Science, and I have often spoken of it to the friends in the church at Wednesday testimony meetings.

Twenty-two years ago in the winter my left shoulder became very painful. Moving this arm grew more and more difficult, and it ached even when I didn't move it.
