
Testimonies of Healing
I should like to express my gratitude for the many blessings Christian Science has brought into my life. I am particularly grateful at this time for an increasing understanding of God as Father-Mother.
In 1920 I was struggling with a severe stomach ailment. For many months I was confined to bed.
For many years the Bible, Science and Health, and the other writings of Mrs. Eddy have comforted, guided, and healed me.
Early in my experience in Christian Science, I was healed of smoking, social drinking, stomach ulcers, and boils. Lost articles have been found, and wonderful business experiences have unfolded.
Although since childhood I had been a member of a Protestant church and Sunday School, very active in the church work, and devoted to Bible reading and prayer, my spiritual needs had not been met. I listened to services broadcast by many different denominations only to turn away sobbing, "I can't find God.
Since early childhood, the truths of Christian Science have dispelled my fears and brought comfort and healing into my life. Once, when I was about four years of age, I jumped into a pile of ashes left from a bonfire.
Christian Science was presented to me by a neighbor, and it was shortly afterward that I had my first healing. I was suffering from bladder trouble.
My heart overflows with gratitude for many wonderful healings through Christian Science; but the ones mentioned in this testimony seem to me to be outstanding and to be responsible for much spiritual growth. Some years ago I had a bitter experience, and I seemed to suffer extremely from persecution.
Over fifty years ago Christian Science came into my family through the instantaneous healing of one member. Gradually each member became interested and received many blessings.
I should like to express my gratitude for the privilege of serving in a Christian Science Sunday School and to tell how an incident related in one of the lessons helped in the healing of a critical business situation. One Sunday morning I asked a class of ten-to-twelve-year-old children, "Why do we come to Sunday School?" With very little hesitation one of the boys replied, "To learn of God.
