Testimonies of Healing

I have many memories of uplifting experiences which have proved the efficacy of Christian Science healing. A girlhood friend and neighbor, who later became a Christian Science practitioner, gave me a copy of Science and Health, and I accepted Christian Science.

I have had healings in Christian Science that I would have termed miraculous prior to my study of it. I have now learned the truth of Mrs.

One day in my shop Christian Science was presented to me by a close friend who saw my need. For nearly eight years I have taken no medicine, and God has been my Physician.

My first recollection of Christian Science healing is that of my brother when he was a young child. I remember the night during which he had five convulsions.

As a new student of Christian Science, and young in years, I became ill in a restaurant while alone, visiting a large city. By referring to a copy of the Journal which I had in my bag, I found the office of a Christian Science teacher.

A number of years ago I was stricken with a serious nervous condition. It grew worse, and a relative who was a student of Christian Science prevailed upon me to try this Science.

Over forty years ago I began the study of Christian Science, and since then I have relied on it exclusively for physical healing and for other help in times of need. At the time I began my study of it, I was suffering from a severe nervous breakdown and was very unhappy.

Before I began reading the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health, the whole world seemed a revolutionary place that held no niche for me. I went to orthodox Sunday Schools and joined three different denominations, always hoping to find the Comforter.

Although I was reared in Christian Science, I had to accept it for myself. As I grew toward maturity, this Science proved to be the only answer to my problems.

With a deep sense of gratitude and a desire to help others, I should like to share the healing of abscessed teeth, which took place through my study of Science and Health and the other writings of our Leader. When a sense of pain and soreness presented itself and I was able to eat only soft foods, I asked myself, "Am I, or am I not, a Christian Scientist?" This was the answer: "Now is the opportunity to prove that I am truly a Christian Scientist.
