Testimonies of Healing

Christian Science came to our family at a time of great business and financial stress during the early years of the Second World War. My husband was endeavoring to establish himself in his profession, but was finding it difficult to do so.

For many years Christian Science has brought much good into my experience, and I wish to express my deep gratitude for it. It was an indispensable help to me when I was rearing my three children, and it is enabling me to help with the problems of my grandchildren.

Through the study of Christian Science, I have had many wonderful proofs of the omnipresence and omnipotence of Truth. These have included healings of broken bones on two occasions, a discordant ear condition, protection for myself and others in a train wreck, and demonstrations of the power of spiritual understanding to provide a home and supply.

Soon after I became a student of Christian Science, I began to have a desire to give a testimony at a Wednesday evening meeting in a branch Church of Christ, Scientist, in order to express my gratitude for all the blessings that had come to me. This seemed almost impossible, because I had had since early childhood an intense fear of public speaking.

One day my brother-in-law and I were discussing religion and our respective concepts of God. He spoke of God as Christian Scientists understand Him.

I have many memories of uplifting experiences which have proved the efficacy of Christian Science healing. A girlhood friend and neighbor, who later became a Christian Science practitioner, gave me a copy of Science and Health, and I accepted Christian Science.

I have had healings in Christian Science that I would have termed miraculous prior to my study of it. I have now learned the truth of Mrs.

One day in my shop Christian Science was presented to me by a close friend who saw my need. For nearly eight years I have taken no medicine, and God has been my Physician.

My first recollection of Christian Science healing is that of my brother when he was a young child. I remember the night during which he had five convulsions.

As a new student of Christian Science, and young in years, I became ill in a restaurant while alone, visiting a large city. By referring to a copy of the Journal which I had in my bag, I found the office of a Christian Science teacher.
