Testimonies of Healing

I am very grateful for the healing of a poisoned arm through Christian Science. One night I awoke and found that my arm was swollen and inflamed from the shoulder to the wrist.

Between 1917 and 1930 I had accumulated a small fortune, and with it I had acquired many undesirable habits, such as heavy drinking and smoking, also a tendency to be domineering. Then the stock market broke, and I lost all my material wealth.

While still a boy I frequently felt unhappy over the teachings of the church which my family attended; and after I came to America, I visited a number of churches of other denominations, hoping to find satisfactory answers to my questions concerning God. Finally, through friends, I found peace in Christian Science, which revives the words and works of Christ Jesus and enables us to obey his command ( Matt.

Christian Science has been our only physician for over thirty years. We have depended upon it for our health and for the solving of large and small problems which confronted us during that time.

In Genesis (15:1) we read that "the word of the Lord came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward. " I can truly say that for thirty-five years Christian Science has been my shield and my "exceeding great reward.

From all the many lovely proofs I have had of God's power I should like to single out one, because it may serve to encourage someone and help him to a firmer faith in the only power there is and because it is a shining example of what Mrs. Eddy says concerning healing physical sickness in her precious small volume "Rudimental Divine Science" ( p.

It is always a privilege to tell of another proof of the healing and regenerating power of Christian Science. Several years ago while my husband and I were making a motor trip to the east coast, I was stricken with a severe pain in my right side.

" The word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword" ( Hebr. 4:12 ).

Twenty-six years ago doctors pronounced their sentence of death upon me. I say "their sentence" because I soon learned that it certainly was not God's sentence.

I wish to express my gratitude for an ever-increasing understanding of Christian Science and for all the blessings that have come to me through its study. I am especially grateful to our dear Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, for her consecrated work in presenting this absolute Science to the world.
