Testimonies of Healing
In an article in the Journal of July, 1946 (p. 338), appeared the following sentence: "As a result of his correctly understanding the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, healing may come to one suffering from inharmony.
Profound gratitude to God for the entire change which Christian Science brought into my life forces me to put this gratitude into words as a testimony, in the hope it may help others as I have so often been helped by reading or hearing testimonies. Before I heard of Christian Science I was not in good health for twelve years.
Today , after twenty years of study, use, and practical proofs of the healing power of Christian Science, this testimony is long overdue. I turned to Science at a time when all earthly joy, peace, and happiness seemed gone forever.
In sincere gratitude for the protection afforded me in a car collision, I write this testimony. The experience enabled me to appreciate with increasing joy the absolute accuracy and dependability of the statements given to us in Science and Health by Mrs.
It is with heartfelt gratitude that I add my humble voice to the thousands raised in testimony to the guidance and healing power of Christian Science. Early in 1945 we were led to sell our house because it was too large for our needs.
Speaking of divine Science, our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, says in the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" ( p. 558 ), "When you look it fairly in the face, you can heal by its means, and it has for you a light above the sun, for God 'is the light thereof.
I should like to relate an experience I had many years ago. One day my mother asked me to visit a friend with her.
Christian Science came into our home thirty years ago at a time when my father had been given up by the doctors. Exclusively through Christian Science treatment he was healed of what was diagnosed by many physicians as an incurable disease.
I wish to make public acknowledgment of the many blessings I have received from the study of Christian Science. I took up this study many years ago for a loved one for whom materia medica offered no aid.
Never a day goes by without my feeling a deep sense of gratitude for our dear Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, and for all she has given to mankind through her teachings and writings. I am also most grateful for our Way-shower, Christ Jesus.
