Testimonies of Healing

Though many times I have expressed gratitude verbally for having found Christian Science over twenty years ago, I have been lax in writing my testimony, and I hope I may make some amends by this testimony. Christian Science is indeed the pearl of great price in our family, for through its teachings physical, mental, and financial problems have been solved as we have relied faithfully, consistently, and radically on Truth.

For more than twenty years Christian Science has been a sustaining, healing, and practical religion to me and my family. It has been my joyful privilege to witness many proofs of God's ever-presence, but one experience taught me the true meaning of prayer.

I first heard of Christian Science in 1900, when my husband's sister wrote me that this Science had healed her after the doctors said she could not get well. I was not interested enough then to look into it, and she did not mention Christian Science to me again until I asked for it, twenty years later.

During the first World War I became interested in Christian Science through a tenant, who told me of an experience with her baby. When the baby accidentally drank carbolic acid, the mother called a practitioner.

It is with a heart full of gratitude that I share the experiences my husband and I have had in demonstrating God's protecting care and guidance when working out a more complete understanding of home as spiritual consciousness. Mrs.

In deep humility and gratitude I give this testimony, hoping that it will help someone who finds himself in deep waters as I did. My parents took up the study of Christian Science when I was a baby.

It has long been my desire to express through our periodicals my sincere gratitude to God for Christian Science and for the wonderful change it has brought about in my life. My attention was first called to this wonderful religion by the healing of our daughter, then seven years of age, of a condition that the physician had told us would require a surgical operation.

It is my duty to praise God, from whom my blessings and healings come. As Jesus said ( John 18:37 ), "To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth.

Having recently had the task of looking after a small child, I have been struck with the realization of how much men and women can learn from children, their complete and unwavering trust in those on whom they depend, their responsiveness, their sense of wonder as things which have hitherto been unknown unfold to them, and above all their spontaneity and happiness.
