In "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" ( p. 583 ) our inspired Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, defines Christ as "the divine manifestation of God, which comes to the flesh to destroy incarnate error.

Though many times I have expressed gratitude verbally for having found Christian Science over twenty years ago, I have been lax in writing my testimony, and I hope I may make some amends by this testimony. For more than twenty years Christian Science has been a sustaining, healing, and practical religion to me and my family. It has been my joyful privilege to witness many proofs of God's ever-presence, but one experience taught me the true meaning of prayer.

I was not interested enough then to look into it, and she did not mention Christian Science to me again until I asked for it, twenty years later.
