Testimonies of Healing

In deep humility and gratitude I give this testimony, hoping that it will help someone who finds himself in deep waters as I did. My parents took up the study of Christian Science when I was a baby.

It has long been my desire to express through our periodicals my sincere gratitude to God for Christian Science and for the wonderful change it has brought about in my life. My attention was first called to this wonderful religion by the healing of our daughter, then seven years of age, of a condition that the physician had told us would require a surgical operation.

I am very grateful for Christian Science and for our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, who labored so unselfishly that all mankind today may be blessed and saved by this Christ, Truth. Jesus tells us ( John 8:32 ), "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

It is my duty to praise God, from whom my blessings and healings come. As Jesus said ( John 18:37 ), "To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth.

Having recently had the task of looking after a small child, I have been struck with the realization of how much men and women can learn from children, their complete and unwavering trust in those on whom they depend, their responsiveness, their sense of wonder as things which have hitherto been unknown unfold to them, and above all their spontaneity and happiness. So often comfort and courage to go forward have come to me through reading the testimonies in our periodicals that I think it is time I told of a few of the countless blessings which have come to us because of Christian Science. My husband and I and two growing boys have never failed to receive help and healing whenever we have turned unreservedly to Christian Science for help.

With the full realization of the many benefits experienced through the study and application of Christian Science, I had a great desire to help in the movement. I therefore sought membership in a branch Church of Christ, Scientist.

One of my first healings in Christian Science was brought about through my reading of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy.
