Testimonies of Healing

I am very grateful that Christian Science has come into my life, for through it not only physical health but above all moral healing has come to me. After an attack of influenza I had lost all my hair, and according to medical opinion the hair follicles had also disappeared.

Of the many blessings that have come to me through the teachings of Christian Science, one which occurred about five years ago stands out as a direct result of prayer. For some thirty years I had been an incessant smoker.

In Psalms we read, "He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings. " This proved true in my case, for when Christian Science was first presented to me I was indeed in a horrible pit of material thinking and living.

A demonstration over disease or sin has been likened to the surmounting of a new rung on the heavenly ladder. Like the angels in Jacob's dream at Bethel, so the healing thoughts from God are ever ascending and descending.

It is with a deep sense of gratitude that I testify to the healing efficacy of Christian Science. I had been a sufferer for several years from inflammatory rheumatism.

Words can never express my gratitude for Christian Science and for what it has done for me and for my loved ones, and also my appreciation of that noble woman, Mary Baker Eddy, who made it possible for all mankind to gain an understanding of the Bible through her wonderful textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," and all of her other writings. I asked for Christian Science help about seventeen years ago, after all material remedies had failed.

I wish to express my gratitude for what Christian Science has done for me and mine. Over thirty-three years ago a neighbor, who was then a stranger to me, gave me my first Journal and Sentinel.

For the many infallible proofs I have had of the healing efficacy of Christian Science I am profoundly grateful. When Christian Science found me I was so full of grief and resentment that had it not been for what others might have thought I should have tried to end it all; but, thank God, I was led into the truth.

I have been healed in Christian Science of ear, eye, throat, and many other troubles. My husband had a stroke of paralysis, became blind, and could hardly talk, but in about three weeks he was able to attend Christian Science services, a distance of about twenty-five miles, and stood the trip well.
