Testimonies of Healing

I have been healed in Christian Science of ear, eye, throat, and many other troubles. My husband had a stroke of paralysis, became blind, and could hardly talk, but in about three weeks he was able to attend Christian Science services, a distance of about twenty-five miles, and stood the trip well.

It was some nineteen years ago that I was prompted to investigate Christian Science. Through many discordant conditions I have been wonderfully sustained and protected.

I wish to express my gratitude for Christian Science and its many blessings. The first I really knew of this Science was through the healing of my brother-in-law, when all material means had failed.

In deepest gratitude to God, infinite good, for the glorious revelation of Christian Science and its healing power through our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, I testify to my own healing of muscular rheumatism many years ago. At that time I knew nothing of Christian Science, and I was under medical treatment, from which I had received no relief, when a dear friend, a Christian Scientist, asked me if I would allow her to help me.

Christian Science found me, according to the doctor, in a dangerous, even hopeless, condition after such a hemorrhage from my lungs that I lost the feeling of life; but I had no fear of death. My old nurse, seeing this state of things, offered to ask a Christian Science practitioner for help.

For many years I have received the rich blessing that Christian Science brings into one's life, so I am offering my testimony with the deepest of gratitude, hoping it will bless and heal others. I shall never forget my first visit to a Christian Science Sunday School, when I was twelve years old.

It is truly an inspiration to read the testimonies in the Journal and Sentinel. Realizing that my own experiences may be of help to someone who is seeking the truth, I will relate some of them.

[Original testimonies in Swedish] When I had had enough of disappointed hopes, and when the answer to many questions seemed hopelessly distant, I was brought to Christian Science by a friend. I am deeply grateful for the privilege of hearing of this holy revelation, and for the opportunity of testifying to the truth of Christian Science, which is not a doctrine but Christianity practically applied.

I wish to avail myself of the privilege given us to express our gratitude through the periodicals for healings in Christian Science. Through the study and application of this Science God has been revealed to me, God whom I had searched for everywhere since childhood; and through the understanding of what God is—that He is Life, Truth, and Love—and that man is His image and likeness, I have been healed of many discordant conditions, physical, mental, and financial.

Many years ago my mother was literally snatched from the grave, when she was healed of cancer through Christian Science. Five physicians had said she could not live without an operation.
