Testimonies of Healing
Gratitude for the countless blessings that my children and I have received from the study and application of Christian Science during the past thirteen years impels me to give this testimony. About five years ago, when my daughter was six years of age, we went to visit my parents, who live in a small mountain community more than a hundred miles from our home.
It is with the purpose of giving some hope and encouragement to young people who are traversing the dark valley of sickness, as I traversed it myself, that I give this testimony of healing and gratitude. I was in a hopeless state when Christian Science was presented to me in November, 1929.
I have loved and studied Christian Science for many years, and know that it would be impossible to estimate the benefits which have come to me through the application of its teachings. My first and most convincing experience of healing came simply through study of a certain passage in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs.
With great gratitude I bear witness to all the blessings which I have received through Christian Science. Over seven years ago my left lung became affected.

Some years ago there was implanted in my consciousness a fear of goiter, and as this fear was never destroyed, a few years later this disease manifested itself. When this trouble became evident, my fear became so intense that I seemed to be paralyzed with it.
Over fifteen years ago I turned in desperation to Christian Science for help. Specialists on the Pacific Coast and in New York city had said that they believed the one thing which might prevent deafness was a major operation, but that they could not be sure of the result.
Many years ago Christian Science saved me from a life of chronic invalidism and a lingering death. For eighteen years I was up and about every day, living a most active life.
It has been my desire for some time to express my deep gratitude for Christian Science and for all that it has done for me, and particularly for my first healing, which stands out as the most beautiful experience in my life. For many years I suffered from what physicians told me was an infected tube in my left side.
For several years I have been encouraged and benefited in many ways by the testimonies which others have lovingly provided for our periodicals and in our Wednesday evening meetings, and I have now through my own experience come to some appreciation of the fact that "testimony in regard to the healing of the sick is highly important" ( Church Manual, Art. VIII, Sect.
