Testimonies of Healing

For several years I have been encouraged and benefited in many ways by the testimonies which others have lovingly provided for our periodicals and in our Wednesday evening meetings, and I have now through my own experience come to some appreciation of the fact that "testimony in regard to the healing of the sick is highly important" ( Church Manual, Art. VIII, Sect.

In 1919 I experienced a beautiful healing through Christian Science. At that time I knew nothing at all about this Science, and the healing was not then understood or fully appreciated.

I want to express my gratitude for the many healings and blessings and for the peace and joy which I have experienced since I took up the study of Christian Science. I am thankful to the dear lady who brought Christian Science to me at a time when I was very much in need of healing.

On page 3 of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, we read: "Gratitude is much more than a verbal expression of thanks. Action expresses more gratitude than speech.

I became interested in Christian Science in 1920, and since then, when its teachings have been conscientiously applied, it has met every need. Two healings stand out very distinctly.

Christian Science has brought innumerable blessings to me, among them class instruction and the annual association meeting of students; membership in The Mother Church and in a branch church; teaching in the Sunday school, daily opportunities to help others to a better understanding of divine Science; and the privilege of caring for a home and rearing a family under the guidance of this Science with the family's coöperation. I wish, however, in this testimony particularly to express my gratitude for the Christian Science Sunday School.

I should like to express my gratitude for the many blessings which Christian Science has brought into my life. When I was but four years of age I was run over by a very heavy vehicle and picked up as dead.

About two years ago Christian Science was brought to me by a person who was already familiar with it and to whom I told all my troubles. This woman asked me, "Are you a believer?" I replied that I followed no religion; that as I had always been courageous and honest, as it seemed to me, and never had wished anyone ill, if there was a God He would have come to my assistance.

My heart is full of gratitude to God, and to our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, for having found Christian Science, the "pearl of great price. " Much has occurred since I took up the study of the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs.

It is with a deep sense of joy and gratitude that I desire to testify to the healing power of Christian Science. About five years ago I met with an accident in which both my shoulders were broken.
