Testimonies of Healing

When I was eighteen years old. spells of dimness affected my eyesight.

It is with sincere gratitude that I offer this testimony to the healing power of Truth, as revealed in the Bible and the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. My first healing was of hernia, from which I had suffered for several years.

Twenty-three years ago I walked into a friend's garden and there I found, lying on a seat, a little book. I picked it up and immediately became immersed in it.

The desire to be more obedient to Article VIII, Section 6, of the Church Manual and a recent experience have taught me the necessity of obedience to Mrs. Eddy's admonition in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" ( p.

As a very young girl I began to doubt the teachings of the orthodox church in which I had been brought up; and after many discussions I gained my mother's consent to stop going to Sunday school. Not very long after this I realized that there was nothing in the beliefs of that church to which I could subscribe, and I left it.

It is with the purpose of giving some hope and encouragement to young people who are traversing the dark valley of sickness, as I traversed it myself, that I give this testimony of healing and gratitude. I was in a hopeless state when Christian Science was presented to me in November, 1929.

Gratitude for the countless blessings that my children and I have received from the study and application of Christian Science during the past thirteen years impels me to give this testimony. About five years ago, when my daughter was six years of age, we went to visit my parents, who live in a small mountain community more than a hundred miles from our home.

I have loved and studied Christian Science for many years, and know that it would be impossible to estimate the benefits which have come to me through the application of its teachings. My first and most convincing experience of healing came simply through study of a certain passage in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs.

With great gratitude I bear witness to all the blessings which I have received through Christian Science. Over seven years ago my left lung became affected.

I feel as though I have put off too long the giving of this testimony of healings received some sixteen years ago through the application of Christian Science. One of these healings was of a supposedly incurable case of chronic catarrh of the head and throat.
