It is about four years since I was seized with a very severe attack of inflammatory rheumatism while on holiday on the coast. I was advised to try various remedies as a relief; but nothing did me any good, and my sufferings were "dreadful. On my return home I at once visited my doctor, who told me that my case was a very bad one and would need great care and constant attention as to diet and medicine. I tried this treatment for many weeks, getting no relief at all; in fact, I was getting gradually worse. Then, just when all seemed very dark, the light of Christian Science was brought into my life. I was taken to a practitioner, who very lovingly and patiently gave out to me the wonderful truths found in the book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. I followed up the study of this book and found to my great joy that daily I was getting better; and at the end of one month I was entirely healed.
Can one cease to be grateful for this beautiful religion? It came to me just when I was needing God and knew not how to find Him. Now I have the great comfort of Christian Science, for which I am more grateful than I can say, as it is daily showing to me the love that God has for His children.
