DAILY DEMONSTRATION

From the November 1941 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Demonstration is one of the essential attributes of Christian Science, for without demonstration there would be merely words, or faith without works. The word "demonstrate" carries a connotation suggesting that demonstration is a special act reserved for some special occasion, some unusual or trying situation. However, to accept such a limited meaning of the word shuts out much of its true significance.

One of the definitions given in the dictionary is "to make manifest." As the word is used in Christian Science, one demonstrates the truth about God and man, starting from the basic fact that God is infinite, perfect, Spirit, Mind, and that man is idea, spiritual and perfect.

Surely, then, demonstration is not confined to any special time, event, or place. Rather is it a constant unfoldment. Manifesting God is therefore not limited or restricted in any way. As one recognizes the meaning of demonstration in this broader sense, there is an increasing realization of man's at-one-ment with God, infinite, ever-present Mind.
