The Christian Science Sentinel and "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, brought Christian Science to our home about twenty-three years ago. I would pick up the Sentinel, to which a brother of my husband subscribed, and read it whenever I had a few moments. When I had more time I read his copy of Science and Health, which appealed to my sense of logical reasoning.
The more I studied Science and Health the more positive I became that it contained the truth about God and the universe, so I sent my children to a Christian Science Sunday School to learn of this demonstrable religion.
Our first healing in Christian Science came at a time when one of our children had Spanish influenza and became delirious. I felt at first that I had no right to experiment on my child with this new healing method. I prayed that I should be guided aright, and the thought came to me. "Shall I put my child in man's hands or in God's hands?" I put her in God's hands by asking a Christian Science practitioner to help her, and she was completely healed in two days. A second child became ill with the same condition. She also was delirious, and she too was quickly healed.
