It is with deepest gratitude to God for all that Christian Science has done for me and for my family during the last twenty-seven years that I offer this testimony. I heard of this Science through a friend who, when I was in dire distress, lent me her copy of the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. I was to undergo a delicate surgical operation, and it was my fear of this and of the consequences of such an operation that made me ask if I might borrow her book, which up to that time I had not wanted to read. After reading all day I was entirely healed, and did not need the operation. To this day there has been no recurrence of the disease. At the same time I was healed of constipation, which had been troubling me ever since I grew up and had caused continuous sick headaches.
The benefits I have derived from Christian Science since then are numerous. With the help of consecrated practitioners I was healed of grippe, bronchitis, and many other ills. I recently experienced the healing of a finger which had become infected as a result of my running a large needle through it when sewing heavy canvas. The finger was healed after I asked a practitioner for help. And last winter I was healed of a bad attack of pneumonia without outside help, as I live far away from other Christian Scientists and am without telegraphic or telephonic communication. I was almost unconscious, but felt I must hold on to the truth; and the result was that I was completely healed by the next day.
At a time when my husband lost his position and in consequence we lost our home, we were led to another home, where we can make a living, grow most of our food, and are privileged to live a quiet and happy life in beautiful surroundings.
