Although I had known of Christian Science...

From the November 1960 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Although I had known of Christian Science since my childhood, having attended for a while the Christian Science Sunday School, I drifted away from it in the current of mortal mind. But eventually I learned that "man's extremity is God's opportunity." Because of an internal disorder, which had defied the medical profession, I came back to Christian Science, and within six months I had a beautiful healing.

From then on, I began a serious and consecrated study of this wonderful truth, joined a branch Church of Christ, Scientist, and took an active part in serving in the movement. Through the years I have enjoyed the fruitage that comes with the study and application of this Science.

One Sunday, when I was returning from church, I was involved in a three-car collision. Before losing consciousness, I was able to make known that I was a student of Christian Science and wanted no medical treatment and also requested that a neighbor who was a Christian Scientist be sent for.
