I attended the Christian Science Sunday School from an early age and have known no religious teaching other than Christian Science. I have always turned to it for help, and it has met my need, whether it was for physical healing, supply, companionship, or guidance in the making of decisions.
I am grateful for the wonderful experience of class instruction, for the increased spiritual understanding this has given me, and for the consequent greater ability to demonstrate the truths of Christian Science, particularly when our children are in need of help. I have been freed from a great sense of responsibility for them. It is in my role as a mother that Science means most to me. It gives our children freedom from the many so-called children's diseases and from the many limitations that popular belief imposes on them.
Some time ago my husband and I were awakened quite early by the sound of coughing coming from the room of our two-year-old son. We hurried to him and picked him up. The condition was alarming. For a few minutes I declared the truth audibly, and then we both prayerfully worked for him.
