I rejoice that Christian Science has enabled me to understand that physical ills are without foundation or reality because they have no divine or spiritual origin. Through this understanding, I have been almost completely free from any sickness for over thirty years.
One evening on my way to a Wednesday testimony meeting in a branch Church of Christ, Scientist, a severe coughing spell came upon me. I had been bothered for several days by this coughing, and my first thought was that I would disturb the service. So I decided to return to the hotel and read and study. After starting back to the hotel, I suddenly stopped and reasoned that my rightful place as a Christian Scientist was at the meeting, and my duty was to render as much good as possible to the service; therefore, my contribution must be that of peace and harmony.
I turned back and proceeded to the church, claiming my dominion as a child of God. Throughout the service I was free from the condition, and I was able to testify to my healing. This occurred twenty six years ago, and I have never coughed at a church service since.
