The greatest day of my life was the one on which I was introduced to Christian Science. Although my parents were atheists, I had always had a great desire to know what God is. It was Christian Science that presented to me a concept of God that I could understand, accept, and apply to my everyday living.
Just as I began to learn of Christian Science through reading Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy and other Christian Science literature, an acute abscess developed in my throat. I thereupon requested the help of a Christian Science practitioner, and he prayed for me during this trial.
At that time I was working for a dentist, and it was evident to him that I was in pain. He insisted on examining my throat. He exclaimed, "What an ugly growth you have there; you should have it taken care of by a physician."
