NEW DIRECTOR OF THE MOTHER CHURCH

The Christian Science Board of Directors announces the election of Inman H. Douglass, C. S. B., of Dallas, Texas, as a Director of The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts, effective March 1, 1961. Mr. Douglass succeeds Alfred Pittman, C. S. B., who has retired from that office to devote his full time to healing and teaching.

Mr. Pittman has served the Cause of Christian Science devotedly for many years, withdrawing from private business in 1929 to enter the public practice in Chicago, Illinois. Following Normal class instruction in the Board of Education in 1934, he became an authorized teacher of Christian Science.

Mr. Pittman has held the position of Associate Editor of The Christian Science Journal, the Christian Science Sentinel, and The Herald of Christian Science, Publishers' Agent for the Trustees under the Will of Mary Baker Eddy, Trustee under the Will of Mary Baker Eddy, Trustee of the Christian Science Benevolent Associations, and Trustee of The Christian Science Pleasant View Home.
