I should like to express my gratitude for the many blessings which have come to me through the study of Christian Science. I did not come to it for a physical healing, but I had been searching for many months for a reason for things and had done a great deal of reading. One day while looking for something else to read I saw Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, and I decided to see what it was really about. Although this book had been placed in my trunk every year when I went away to school and I had often been urged to read it, I had never understood it and had felt it was something I did not need. This time I understood what the book was saying, and I have been studying it during the many years since then.
As I started to read it through for the first time, I was healed of a severe cold, though I had no thought of this happening. Some years later I realized that at that time I had also been healed of a sense of grief and loss which I had felt since the passing on of my father. While reading I saw very clearly that God is man's true Father, from whom he cannot be separated.
A healing of lack and limitation made a great impression on me. We had a financial problem then which seemed acute. My mother, sister, and I were living in Paris, but three weeks after I started to read Science and Health we were on a boat, going home to the United States. A week before, this would have been impossible because we had so little money. Now it just poured in from the most unexpected sources, and we had as much as we needed to take care of us all. Since that time Christian Science has met all my needs, and I have had many physical healings.
