Anciently the great prophets of the Bible, and other characters of the Old Testament, had glimpses of the Christ, which appeared to them as the voice of God. Their communion with the Almighty was through spiritually exalted thought. In these loved characters we can trace some element of the Christ; and when the Christ-element predominated, they performed mighty works.
