To love, to be loved, and to do the works of Love is man's destiny as the child of God, for Love is the clearest name for God. We can see throughout Bible history that the impelling force of Love operating in human experience freed men from every form of threatening error, leading them on to heights of triumph and rejoicing. The power of divine Love persistently weaves its unmistakable pattern of healing and deliverance from the curse of false education and fear and shows man's infinite possibilities of health, happiness, and satisfying activity.
In "Christian Healing," Mrs. Eddy states (p. 9): "Is it a duty for any one to believe that 'the curse causeless cannot come'? Then it is a higher duty to know that God never cursed man, His own image and likeness." Because Love blesses man, there is no power that can reverse or hide this blessing.
As a child, hate and condemnation were implanted upon the writer's impressionable thought, and these, together with the fear that accompanied them, manifested themselves in a physical breakdown. False theology, coupled with punitive measures, caused hopelessness and discouragement.
