Mrs. Eddy spoke out strongly against deceptive reading matter on Christian Science, particularly manuscripts falsely attributed to her. She worked hard to make her published writings of maximum benefit and endeavored to protect their purity through the Manual of The Mother Church.

It means little that they are said to be by Mrs. Eddy. Some of the written materials go back to her day, even to disloyal students.
