Christ Jesus anticipated that his followers in every period would be able to do things that he did and be effective helpers.

The Christian Science practitioner is aware that it is faith in God's willingness and ability to defend life and harmony that prompts an individual to turn to the Christ Science for aid. This is the premise on which treatment is administered, never on the basis of personal influence—willpower, suggestion, or magnetism. The practitioner does not personally dominate the patient.
