". . . man, including the universe . . ."

From the February 1980 issue of The Christian Science Journal

What inspiring words! They come from a statement by Mrs. Eddy in her book Unity of Good: "Spirit is the only creator, and man, including the universe, is His spiritual concept." Un., p. 32

Understanding this fact opens up an infinite approach to living and can turn our life style and our think style completely around. There's no room here for the narrow, crimped, mortal "self" approach, nor for its misunderstandings and private wars.

Not only the universe, including man, as Mrs. Eddy so often says, but man, including the universe—through Christian Science this sense of being is within reach of mankind's apprehension now. How vastly different this concept of man is from conclusions drawn from the belief that matter has life and intelligence— that man is a biological creature living in a cramped framework called a matter body. On this level, he is generally thought of as a mere speck in the cosmic arena, surrounded by millions of other specks, pawns of accident or fate.
