Discerning divine reality aids healing

From the February 1980 issue of The Christian Science Journal

There is a divine order of harmony we can draw on for the healing of human ills and woes. This divine order is God's own conception of things—the perfection of His being, always represented and reflected in man and throughout His spiritual universe. "God be merciful unto us, and bless us; and cause his face to shine upon us," the Psalmist pleads. "That thy way may be known upon earth, thy saving health among all nations." Ps. 67: 1 , 2

Supreme Truth; perfect, indestructible Life; infinite Love—these describe the Being that is God, our divine FatherMother. God is faultless Mind, which Jesus so faithfully expressed. The Bible recommends, "Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus." Phil. 2:5

Jesus didn't accept appearances of imperfection. He was in accord with God in the way he viewed man. And so, even the most serious physical ills were cured in the presence of his Godlike perception of each one's true, harmonious selfhood. The closer we come in our standpoint, therefore, to God's perfect man and universe, the more harmony and health we can expect to see.
