As a lifelong Christian Scientist I am...

From the May 1980 issue of The Christian Science Journal

As a lifelong Christian Scientist I am most grateful for the many healings I have received through complete reliance on God as my only physician.

A little over a year ago I was quickly healed of what appeared to be a broken bone. My business takes me to construction sites, and one Friday morning while at such a location, I stepped onto a piece of wood that gave way and caused me to fall on my foot and twist it. The pain was intense, but I endeavored to become conscious of my real identity as a spiritual child of God, held securely in the arms of Love.

I couldn't put any weight on my foot because it was so uncomfortable. It felt as if there was something in my shoe. When I took the shoe off, I saw very specific evidence of a break. I sat quietly for a few minutes affirming man's unbroken relationship to God. Then I managed to get to my car and return to my place of business. I kept on knowing that man is always in his right place and never the victim of chance or accidents. I claimed my right, as God's reflection, to the allness of His love, His goodness, and His support.
