Toward the latter part of April 1978, I was laboring under an extremely heavy work schedule. Not only did I have a lot to accomplish in a short period, but it was the first time I had attempted some of the tasks, and I was anxiously feeling my way. Pressure and tension mounted.
During this busy time I was usually able to read the Bible Lesson in the Christian Science Quarterly each day, but I didn't seem to have time to do any additional studying or praying. I reasoned that the situation was only temporary, and that my duties at the office were the top priority.
Then I began to develop symptoms of a head cold. When I woke in the morning, both ears would be stopped up. But a little later there would be a pop, and my head would clear. A morning came when there wasn't a pop, and one ear remained stopped.
