THE CHURCH IN ACTION

The Reaching Room

From the March 1983 issue of The Christian Science Journal

The following account is from a worker in Massachusetts.

Recently I laughed at a mistake I had made in a letter. Instead of "Reading Room" I had typed "Reaching Room." Actually, I thought, it wasn't that much of an error. Every Reading Room should be a Reaching Room—its workers reaching out, reaching forth, and reaching higher to find the kingdom of God that Jesus said was within us.
See Luke 17:21.

The following Friday night as I served in the Reading Room of my branch church, I started to make a list that would be helpful to me as a "Reaching Room" attendant.
