Only a lamb...

From the March 1983 issue of The Christian Science Journal

In a dream that seemed so real, I heard
my child calling to me to save him.
Frantic and with all my strength
I rushed to the scene, finding him
already beyond my reach.

My heart cried out to my God and his . . .

It was then I woke to hear Christ speak:
"God, Love, is like a Shepherd
who carries His lambs in His arms
all the day long and
all the night long,
who never puts one down
and never lets one down."

"My dear lamb," God said to me,
"I have never asked you to be the Shepherd."

Both lambs were saved.
