Christ-healing- all God's doing

From the March 1983 issue of The Christian Science Journal

In actuality, all the good that is going on is God's doing, and He is the great doer of all that's really being done. Consequently, God's ever-present power of goodness, by its very nature, must be a healing force, a benevolent law of health, an inevitable destruction to illness of any kind. This healing action is the Christ, reaching individual consciousness according to the state of readiness there. The Christ reaches those who have attained even a degree of spirituality.

Readiness to accept God's revelation of Christ-healing requires more than a statement of desire for it. We need to put our understanding of the divine nature into practice through consecrated prayer, devoted study of the truth—obedience to the Christ in thought and deed, in our hearts and in our lives. We are called upon to cast off carnal traits and worldly tendencies. Love of goodness must govern thought and observation. As progress is made in reflecting Christliness, we will be able to implement the divine currents of healing in daily experience.

If in spite of all our efforts to be Christlike prayer to God for healing seems difficult—even arduous—we can find release in the assurance that the healing is always God's doing. We need to let Him take charge and reveal the truth of being. Then we see how to demonstrate divine law.
