My parents became interested in Christian Science when I was about two, and there were many healings in our family, including my healing of a broken leg when I was eight.
After I was grown and married, on the several occasions when our children were young and I was wakened in the night to find them feeling ill, what a sense of gratitude and peace I felt to know that Christian Science treatment is an immediate help. I had seen proof of its efficacy since childhood, and it was natural to continue to depend on this divine method of healing that works! In any kind of need, regardless of what the situation or circumstances were, I—and as the children grew, they, too—could turn immediately to God with healing results.
Of particular comfort to me was this definition of Japhet given in Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy (p. 589): "A type of spiritual peace, flowing from the understanding that God is the divine Principle of all existence, and that man is His idea, the child of His care."
