From the February 1990 issue of The Christian Science Journal

The Archives and Library of The Mother Church house information on the life of Mary Baker Eddy, her writings, her students, and the origins of the Church.

The Archivist's Office reports that recently church members have visited the Archives and Library from twenty-five lands—from Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, England, the Federal Republic of Germany, France, the German Democratic Republic, Ghana, India, the Isle of Man, Japan, Kenya, Mexico, the Netherlands, Northern Ireland, Portugal, the Philippines, the Republic of South Africa, Switzerland, Trinidad, Uruguay, Wales, and Zambia.

In the last two years this Office has made a concerted effort to reach out especially to German-speaking visitors. Because of this special effort, a visitor from West Germany remarked, "It's been so wonderful to share the blessings The Mother Church provides through your department."
