All of us come across occasions when we are faced with a decision involving what may seem to be two equally plausible alternatives. It is as though we were standing at a fork in the road, with both fingerposts pointing to the same town.
A map may show us that each road will have its advantages and disadvantages, but it will not necessarily help us to know which is the better one to follow.
When we can honestly pray as Christ Jesus,
"Not my will, but thine, be done," then we
are in a position to go forward with what seems
to us to be "nearest right, "knowing that if we are
mistaken, the Father's love will gently guide us
back to the true path.
