While reading the Bible one day, this verse...

From the February 1990 issue of The Christian Science Journal

While reading the Bible one day, this verse from Psalms caught my attention: "At midnight I will rise to give thanks unto thee because of thy righteous judgments." I wondered why the Psalmist preferred midnight for thanksgiving. I pondered the verse until I could grasp its meaning to some extent. I saw that the Psalmist was so conscious of God's righteous judgments that he would get up even at midnight to express his gratitude.

This awakened me to realize that I really owe gratitude to God for the innumerable blessings and healings received by everyone in our family through Christian Science. I rejoice to share one of them now with my whole heart and humble gratitude to God for this wonderful religion.

My physical health was deteriorating. I was feeling exhaustion, severe pain in the chest, and discomfort in the stomach from being overweight. At the slightest physical work or exercise, the pain in the chest would increase. I presumed that this was due to heart trouble.
